Another Dimension
CAGSE believes that every lesson should draw on a variety of disciplines and perspectives, even in primary school.
As you would expect, our team is both academically skilled and has talents and experience not usually seen in a classroom.
We make full use of these to ensure our lessons are as rounded and as much fun as possible, communicating with our students in accessible and stimulating ways.
For example, one of our Latin teachers, Jonathan Goddard, has created these raps and our previous Director of Latin Studies, Zanna Wing-Davey, wrote some songs.
We hope you enjoy them!

Let's Conjugate Amo
The Noun Song lyrics
Yo listen up, this is how we get down
Listen to the word that's all around town
Know about the grammar
So you can act clever
A person, a place or a thing is a noun.
A noun is a person, a place or a thing
Like David Beckham, Peckham or bling
Could be something you wear like a cloak or a crown
But a place, or a person or thing is a noun.
A noun can be big, a noun can be small
Like an ant, elephant, or a horse
Could be your Dad or Big Gordon Brown
But a person, a place or a thing is a noun.
Could be a chair or something you touch
Or something you feel like fear or love
Or something you want like a million pounds
'Cause a person, a place or a thing is a noun.
Nouns are the names of places around
Like England, Jamaica and Reading Town
Even the shop or the playground
But a person, a place or a thing is a noun.
Yo listen up, this is how we get down
Listen to the word that's all around town
Now that you know, don't act like a clown
A person, a place or a thing is a noun.
The noun song, the noun song, the noun song, the noun song
This is the noun song, the noun song, the noun song, the noun song
This is the noun song, the noun song, the noun song, the noun song
This is the noun song, the noun song, the noun song, the noun song
The Verb Song lyrics
This is the Verb Song
Everybody do the the Verb
Yeah. This is the Verb Song
Everybody do the the Verb
Let me tell you 'bout a special kind of word
This kind of word is called a verb.
By the time that we've finished, I hope you've learned
The name of a doing word is a verb.
A verb is something that you or I do
He, she and it can do it too.
We can or they can if they're plural and third
The name of a doing word is a verb.
A verb is an activity or an action
Like to praise, or to love someone.
This part of the verb is called the infinitive
A verb is a doing word — remember it!
If it's happening now, then it's present tense.
If it's already happened, it's in the past.
Now jump, wave and clap your hands together
These are some verbs we can do in the class.
When you dance or laugh or play or have fun
The thing you're doing is an action.
Now, we know that an action is a doing word
And the name of a doing word is a verb.
Verbs are the building blocks of the language
English, Japanese — or Latin
Past or present, active or passive
A verb is a doing word — get the message!
Yuh. It's the verb song.
It's the verb song.
